Cheney leads Kellogg past St. Maries

ST. MARIES — Hailey Cheney scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the first half to lead the visiting Wildcats past the Lumberjacks in the girls Brawl for the Ball spirit game on Saturday.

Jaron Figueroa and Gracelyn Nearing each added nine points for Kellogg (9-3), which travels to Wallace on Friday.

Mackenzie Hammond scored five points for St. Maries (4-11), which visits Priest River on Tuesday.

PLUMMER — Jolissa Holt scored 11 of her game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter for the Knights in a loss to the Vikings at Ron Miller Court.

“It was a tight game back and forth,” Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. “It was good to be in a tight game, and kind of what we need right now. We definitely could have won the game, but it was nice to be in a close one. I guess we’ve got some things to work on at winning some close games like that.”

Tamara Anderson scored seven points for Lakeside (8-3), which hosts Highland of Craigmont on Tuesday.

Kenzi Pedersen scored 20 points for Garfield-Palouse.

COEUR d’ALENE — Imelda Bresee had 14 points, 23 rebounds, three blocked shots and four steals for her 14th double-double in as many games for the Royals in the Mountain Christian League victory over the Lions at Holy Family Catholic School.

Danica Kelly added nine points, five steals and five assists for North Idaho Christian (13-2, 9-0 MCL), which plays host to Priest River on Wednesday at Holy Family.

Mariella Cashen led Christian Center School with eight points.
