Patricia Lee Hamby, 77

Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Patricia Lee Hamby, 77, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away on Jan. 4, 2020. Patricia was born on Dec. 12, 1942; the daughter of Donald and Beverly (McCune) Kuhn.

Patricia grew up in Iowa before moving to the Pacific Northwest in 1955. It was in Coeur d’Alene that she made her home for the next 65 years of her life.

Patricia married the great love of her life, William Hamby, in 1960. They had two wonderful children together: Bill and Teri.

Patricia was a religious person and her faith was something she treasured. She also treasured the wonderful relationships she had throughout her life. She was known for having long-lasting, close friendships. She met with her Pinnacle Club once a month for over the past 50 years.

Patricia was known for being a very sweet woman. She was also known for being very particular in her ways but was also very giving and generous. She adored her wonderful children; they will always treasure the Sunday morning breakfasts they shared together.

Patricia had many hobbies including crafts, painting with water and oil paints, bird watching, enjoying the wildlife and picking rocks along the Coeur d’Alene River. She was quite the decorator and would always make the holidays and events a special one for all those who would attend. Patricia was an incredible cook; there was never any shortage of food when she was around.

Patricia is survived by her children, Bill Hamby of Washington and Teri (Mike) Valois of Idaho; her sister, Penny (David) Strand of Oregon; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her ex-husband, William Hamby; and her mother, Beverly Allen.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at the Bell Tower Funeral Chapel, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave., Post Falls, ID 83854. Bell Tower Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted with services.
