WEBSITES: A business priority

| January 5, 2020 12:00 AM

We’re new to the party… bought land up in the county north of Hayden 15 years ago. Now, we’re finishing up building a new house on an old hunk of concrete.

As owner/gc, I am tasked with rounding up everything that goes into a house. I am constantly amazed at how many businesses here STILL do not have websites.

I don’t need extravagant, polished sites (though that would be refreshing) … just a freaking website so I can see who you are! So I can see what you offer. So I don’t have to drive all over town(s) looking for what I need. So I don’t have to go to “you know who”…rhymes with “gnome repo!”

I want to buy local but come on folks, don’t make me work this hard! This may have worked historically, but welcome to the new world — adapt or die. The new suppliers are coming and they smell weakness!

If you are not currently developing a web domain, good luck! I do not mean to sound like I’m complaining nor criticizing. I’m really trying to help you stay in business. It’s 2020… not 1960.

Happy New Year, all the best and y’all be careful out there.
