Carlson shines for Cardinal men at Treasure Valley

ONTARIO, Ore. — James Carlson, a Lake City High product, had 16 points and seven rebounds for North Idaho College in a 93-70 win over the Treasure Valley Chukars in Northwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
Christian Guess had 15 points and seven rebounds for NIC (14-1, 2-0 NWAC), which led 39-38 at halftime before shooting 18 of 31 (58.1 percent) from the field and limiting Treasure Valley to 10 of 29 (34 percent) in the second half.
NIC travels to Walla Walla next Saturday.
Zach Phillips scored 15 points for Treasure Valley (7-6, 0-2).

ONTARIO, Ore. — Lilly Kelley, the Timberlake High product, tied the game at 66 on a free throw with 2:11 remaining and Hannah Broyles gave the Chukars the lead for good on a free throw with 1:44 left in a Northwest Athletic Conference win over the Cardinals.
Alex Carlton had 17 points and six rebounds, Anna Schrade 13 points and seven rebounds for NIC (7-6, 1-1 NWAC), which travels to Walla Walla next Saturday.
Kelley and Broyles, a Moscow product, scored 20 points each for Treasure Valley (7-4, 1-1).
