NOTE: Technique Gymnastics is hosting its annual event, The Snowglobe Classic 2020 at the Real Life Sports Complex in Post Falls this weekend, Feb. 28-March 1.

There will be some 400 gymnasts competing from the surrounding areas including Idaho, Washington and Montana.

COEUR d’ALENE RECREATION

Soccer: The City of Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department announces registration for youth spring soccer for all boys and girls age 5 or in grades K-8.

Registration will be held March 2-13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the rec department office at 710 Mullan Ave. in the lower level of Coeur d’Alene City Hall.

Online registration is available at cdaid.org/recreation.

The league will start in mid-April and run through the end of May.

Registration fees are $20 for Coeur d’Alene city residents and $30 for non-city residents.

Timbers Thorns North FC Girls 04 Red: The Thorns traveled to Las Vegas this past weekend to play in the Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup Showcase tournament.

Friday had the girls play two games, first against Chicago Empire FC Gold, losing 2-0, and the second against LVSC 04, winning 3-0. Goals were scored by Maddie Quigley, and Olivia Wyatt (2). Isabella Lucky had an assist, and Danika Nowak had the shutout as keeper.

Saturday the team had two more games scheduled, the first against Arsenal Colorado Academy 04, which resulted in a 2-0 loss, and the second game against Sound FC 04B from Seattle which ended in a 2-0 loss in rainy conditions.

Thorns 05 Girls Red: The Thorns beat the Kitsap Alliance FC-G05A 4-0 on Saturday. Sam Beamis scored two goals, Elise Frazier and Gabby Henkle one each.

The Thorns then tied Valor Soccer-G05 2-2. Elise Frazier scored on a penalty kick for the Thorns, and Olivia Azzolini scored once.
