Notable calls for the day!

01-31-2020

- Deputies responded to Super 1 in Athol reference an employee stealing money (coins) from the store for the last few months. Report completed. 20-04033

- Deputies arrested a wanted subject at a residence and also found some meth and paraphernalia.

- Deputies responded to a reported Injury Crash on S. Carroll Dr. In the end, it was actually a PD crash. 20-04070

- A Deputy responded to the area of W. Village Blvd. (the Twin Lakes Trading Post) for a Warrant Service. On scene he located Juvenile Absconded Runaway. He was placed in custody and then transported to JDC. 20-04087

- Deputies responded to curve area north of the intersection on Old Hwy 95 for a reported Rollover Crash. A driver failed to negotiate the curve in the poor weather conditions, and with poor tires on his vehicle. 20-04074.

- A Deputy observed a vehicle driving through a field in a new construction zone off of the southwest corner of Highway 41 and Prairie Avenue. She contacted the driver and passenger of the Suzuki, who were mud bogging and got stuck. The driver had a warrant and was arrested. The responsible for the property did not want to press charges and there was no damage. 20-04111

- A Deputy located a reported DUI driver on Hayden Ave x Idaho Road and arrested the driver for Excessive DUI. (.241/.239) 20-04130

- A Deputy observed a vehicle racing down Seltice from the Stateline Village then northbound Beck. It took him until Beck and Prairie to catch up with the vehicle, which had been traveling at speeds of 90 plus mph. The driver had gone to Showgirls with his friends but forgot his ID. He was rushing home to get it so he could get into Showgirls. He was cited for his careless driving. 20-04159

- Deputies responded to N Benoit St. regarding a trespassing of individuals who had been evicted from their residence and were now back and inside. Contact was made with 4 subjects that had no standing to be at the location due to an eviction. Three of the four subjects were arrested for various charges to include trespassing, obstructing and conspiracy. The fourth was cited and release due to have having a dog that would have needed to be sheltered. 20-04153

- A Deputy observed a vehicle in the area of Sherman and CDA Lake Drive that was actively trying to avoid contact with the Deputy and went into the gas station. When the Deputy approached the vehicle, he could smell the odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. The female was contacted and eventually come out to her vehicle. The female was arrested for PCS methamphetamine, PCS marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and obstructing. 20-04155

- A Deputy stopped a vehicle on Beck Rd X Expo Parkway. He made contact with the driver and learned he was on probation. The probation officer requested the vehicle be searched. Methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for PCS and paraphernalia. 20-04178

- While patrolling in the Harrison area, A Deputy came upon a slide off of a vehicle teetering on the embankment, nearly going off an approximate 20 foot drop off. The vehicle was unoccupied and towed due to being a hazard. 20-04179

The high winds picked up in the early afternoon and continued throughout the night. All emergency services agencies throughout the county received a considerable amount of calls for numerous trees down and other traffic hazards due to the extremely high winds. The Post Falls area seems to have been hit the worst with trees falling on houses, vehicles and power lines. Fortunately there were no significant damages or injuries reported out in the county.

02-01-2020

Deputies were very busy as a result of the wind storm. Trees and power lines were down throughout the county, but mainly in the Northern Hayden area and the Eastern Post Falls area. Several business and residential alarms were triggered and investigated and roads were blocked due to the weather.

- Deputies handled a possible threatening report. The RP advised her daughter’s boyfriend was on the way to the residence and had threatened her. Contact was made with the male and he was warned against this in the future. 20-04225

- Deputies responded to Wal-Mart Hayden reference to two male subjects with backpacks allegedly containing unpaid-for merchandise. On scene, the males were contacted. One of the males was arrested for mara/para. 20-04258

- Deputies responded to the parking lot area of Wal-Mart Hayden for reported Unconscious Male in a vehicle. An off duty Nurse observed the male in the vehicle and removed him from the vehicle when he stopped breathing; and performed CPR. Fire/EMS arrived and administered Narcan to the male who was then transported to KH. It appears this was a drug overdose. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the off duty nurse and the Fire/EMS personnel for her quick actions. 20-04271

- Deputies responded multiple times to assist Spirit Lake with bar fights on Maine Street at multiple different bars with what seemed to be the same group of subjects returning. They were a large group from Coeur d’Alene in town for a celebration of life memorial. Spirit Lake took primary but nobody wanted to press charges.

- A Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and suspicious driving behavior. The driver stopped on 4th Street near Spokane Street in Post Falls and bailed on foot between two houses. The Deputy lost him but through RO information and in house photos he was identified and learned he had an active warrant for failure to pay child support. The male is still outstanding at this time. 20-04302

- Deputies took a threatening/petit theft report from the CdA Casino. A female called to report that her ex-boyfriend had located their co-owned vehicle at the Casino and repossessed it. The vehicle contained multiple items belonging to the female and her new boyfriend. The ex refused to meet with the female to give her the belongings and threatened her and the new boyfriend by phone. A report was completed. 20-04322.

- Deputies responded to a reported fight. The victim was contacted but the suspect fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival. A report was completed.

Most of the shift responded to N A St in CDA City to assist CDAPD on a large fight. 20-30 people were contacted at the residence and at least two of them needed medical treatment from a fight. Most of the individuals were intoxicated and a good portion of them were under age. CDAPD handled the incident and Deputies acted as cover. 20-04317

- A Deputy took an auto burglary report from E Hanna Ln. The victim observed someone enter his vehicle from his “ring” security camera. Another call came in from a different citizen a short time later in the same area reporting a suspicious vehicle and people. Deputies searched the area for quite some time and were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. 20-04321

- Deputies took a theft report from the Harrison area where a canoe was reportedly stolen from the shore line. It is possible the canoe drifted away or blew off the shore in the windstorm. Report completed and forwarded to the recreation safety section.

- Deputies responded to a car fire off Killarney Lake Rd. The car caught fire going up a steep driveway. There were no injuries and was cleared as non-suspicious.

- Deputies arrested a driver from a traffic stop for her U.S. Marshals warrant from North Carolina.

- Deputies responded to N. Greensferry in Post Falls for a possible domestic. Upon their arrival a female was in her car and would not get out until KCSO arrived. Apparently her intoxicated husband was becoming more aggressive towards her and his adult son in Spokane earlier. She tried to get her husband home and into bed but things continued to escalate to the point of him shutting the car door on her foot when they arrived home. The male was arrested for domestic battery.

- Deputies cited and released a female for paraphernalia from a traffic stop.

- Deputies responded to N. HWY 41 for a welfare check on a male. It was reported the male was going through hard times and recently began drinking again. Additionally, his residence suffered damage during the recent wind storm. Deputies were unable to locate the male at the residence.

- Deputies responded to N. Government Way for an initial report of an unconscious female appearing to be having breathing difficulty. When Deputies arrived, they found that there was no medical issues, however the female had a warrant for false info to LE.

- Deputies responded to the area of Ramsey Rd. X Seasons Rd. for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The driver was acting odd, parked on the wrong side of the road with his vehicle running, and appeared to be intox. Before Deputies could arrive, he left the scene. The male was located in Spirit Lake a short time later by SLPD. Deputies responded to assist. While on scene, it was determined that he was not intoxicated, and per SLDP, his behavior was normal….for him.

- Deputies responded to the area of Hauser View Dr. for a suspicious male. The RP heard her doorbell ring at approximately 2330 hrs and observed an unknown male walking around outside. Even with an area saturation, we were unable to find anyone in the area and received no additional calls.
