POST FALLS — The Post Falls School District Board of Trustees unanimously voted Friday to hire Dena Naccarato as the next superintendent starting July 1.

The selection came at the end of a lengthy process that included multiple opportunities for staff, parents and community input as well as a thorough background check.

The board rated the candidates based on their application packet, interviews, references and input from a candidates’ meet and greet.

"We had an outstanding group of finalists; however, Ms. Naccarato rose to the top in all areas of the process," said chairman Dave Paul. "We are excited for her to put her own footprint on the future of Post Falls School District.”

Naccarato has been with Post Falls School District since 2004, first as an assistant principal and then principal at Post Falls High School. She moved to the district office six years ago, where she served as the director of programs and instruction and for the past three years as the assistant superintendent for secondary programs.

"I’m humbled and honored at the board’s decision and look forward to working with students, staff, parents and community of Post Falls,” Naccarato said. "I will schedule time formally and informally to meet with staff, community members, parents and students to gather their input on the future of the district."

Naccarato will replace Jerry Keane, who is retiring after four decades with the district.
