Debra Kinney Clark, 66

Debra Kinney Clark, age 66, was born April 1, 1953, to John Kinney and Diana Fielding, in Olean, N.Y. She passed away Jan. 26, 2020, in the Circle of Life at Kootenai Medical Center.

Debra grew up in various places across the country including Chicago; Lincoln, Neb.; Los Angeles; and Sacramento, Calif. She married Rick Clark on Oct. 30, 1977, in Reno, Nev.

Debra worked for Williams Shoe Fashions in Sacramento until she finished court reporting school in 1983. She and her husband moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1983. She went to work for Heston and Howell Reporting Firm, and in 1987 she went to work at the Spokane County Courthouse as a court reporter. Debra then moved over to the Federal Courthouse to work with the Hon. Robert Whaley. She worked there until she retired in 2015.

Debra and her husband lived in their home in Hayden until she became ill with kidney cancer. She loved to travel and went all over the world.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; her brother, Rex Kinney of Roseville, Calif.; her sister, Karla Meyers; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or donations, take your family out to dinner and have a glass of wine or a beer or a drink and toast to Debra.

A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., at Yates Funeral Home - Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, ID 83835. A graveside service will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
