MASKS: Let debate continue

It is with a profound sense of disappointment that I read yet another letter from someone who is admonishing people in our community for not thinking the same way he does. The only one espousing hate speech and not being responsible are people like you, Russ.

The efficacy of masks is marginal, at best. A recent study out of Denmark and published in the ‘Annals of Internal Medicine’ concluded that the recommendation to wear surgical masks to supplement other public health measures did not reduce the infection rate among wearers by more than 50% in a community with modest infection rates, some degree of social distancing, and uncommon general mask use.
