$1: Don’t knock it, sir

| December 23, 2020 1:00 AM

I nearly spewed my coffee and breakfast bar after reading the insidious comment from Steven Adams, Rathdrum, referring to the caption about the Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas campaign, stating, “A generous Fred Meyer patron on Thursday drops a $1 bill into a Salvation Army Red Kettle at Fred Meyer” (Dec. 11 edition).

Our condescending commenter actually wrote, “One dollar! Generous? Seriously? I guess the definition of generous for the caption writer is different than mine.”

Steven, ANY act of giving is generosity no matter the amount. Widow’s mite and all that. Perhaps you would benefit from a Sunday school remedial course on the subject.

How obnoxious of you to put a standard on anyone’s giving ability. Every gift, no matter the amount, is generous.
