2,000 affected by outages

Two power outages on Wednesday affected more than 2,000 Kootenai Electric Cooperative members.

In Coeur d'Alene Place, power was knocked out when a contractor accidentally dug up an underground line during construction, according to a press release. Power was restored about 4:40 p.m.

In Worley, the cause of the outage was unknown. Power was restored at 6:30 p.m.
