RENT: Hold off increases

It is nearly 2021 and my fervent wish is that landlords, management companies and senior facilities place a moratorium on rent increases for the coming year.

Many people cannot afford their current rent due to job loss, extra expenses for delivery services or transportation during the pandemic and the nearly invisible raise in the annual Social Security benefit.

We have seen the lack of corporate compassion as large companies (Safeway, Albertsons, Kroger, etc.) are benefiting with rising profits while not paying “hazard pay” to frontline workers who allow us to continue to purchase essentials!
