POEM: Go My Son

| December 16, 2020 1:00 AM

The Father looked down on the world below

And said, My Son, it is time you go,

What I ask of you will be hard indeed

but it breaks my heart when I see their need.

I see their sin and rebellious hearts,

These are the things that keep us apart,

So I’m sending you down to the earth today,

To gently help them find their way.

Now go and tell of my love for them,

That you came to save them from their sin,

On a rugged cross you will die, My Son

As you bear the sins for everyone.

But I’ll raise you up and give life anew

To everyone who believes in you,

Tell them of life u in Heaven with me,

Filled with rejoicing for eternity.

Go quickly My Son, go obediently,

And bring my dear loved ones home to me,

And so it was on that first Christmas morn,

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, was born.
