FULCHER: Texas support is sedition

| December 16, 2020 1:00 AM

I’m writing regarding Rep. Fulcher’s decision to sign on to an Amicus Brief in support of the Texas lawsuit asking the court to invalidate the votes of more than 10 million people in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia.

The suit claims that the election results in those states harmed the people of Texas. Incredibly, none of the more than 50 frivolous lawsuits brought by the Trump administration has been allowed to proceed in court due to lack of credible evidence, yet Rep. Fulcher supported this one.

His lack of legal training is no excuse for his willingness to overthrow the results of a fair, already certified election. That’s sedition.

It’s true that most of his support stems from constituents without much education and without legal training but they won’t be able to stop repercussions from finding him. Rep. Fulcher may think there won’t be consequences, because of his abject insularity, but he is wrong.

The act of Sedition carries consequences. Maybe Rep. Fulcher should spend some time looking into what those consequences are.
