COVID: Take it seriously, stores
I agree with the letter written by Pamela Root that Super 1 in Post Falls is the worst store I have shopped in regarding people wearing masks. Not only was there a large number of people not wearing masks, these people also had no respect for social distancing.
Since the mask mandate is not being enforced by the store, people who are more susceptible can’t do anything about that. We usually shop at Yoke’s, Super 1 (Coeur d’Alene) or Costco, so we aren’t used to people behaving this way. We will be staying away from all the Super 1 locations from now on since there seems to be low regard by management for the health and safety of all customers.
We have a hospital that has had to open up an additional space for more COVID patients, and a hospital staff that is increasingly falling ill, so there are remaining workers who can’t keep up with the medical demands of all the patients. Yet, Kootenai County law enforcement ignores this, as do too many of the residents.
My husband and children are medical professionals. They are intelligent enough to see the effects of disregarding social distancing and mask wearing. All of us hold conservative values, but that doesn’t mean we are ideologues.
Unfortunately, there is little we can do in Kootenai County to make some people use reasonable accommodations in fighting COVID. I imagine these same people don’t wash their hands either. Disgusting.
