COVID: Fear is real enemy

| December 11, 2020 1:00 AM

There has been a lot of disinformation designed to scare the individual regarding the China Flu, aka COVID-19.

Let’s look at some facts to see how dangerous this really is.

I looked at Kootenai County data from the Panhandle Health District and the Idaho Department of Transportation.

In 2020, in Kootenai County, there have been four China Flu deaths in the under 70 age groups.

In the same time frame, there have been nine traffic fatalities.

In other words, you are two and a half times more likely to die in a traffic accident than from the China Flu. Are you scared to drive? Should you stay home because you are more likely to die in a car accident than the China Flu? We accept the odds and take the chance to lead a normal life.

If you are under 70, you should be doing the same thing, abandon the fearmongers and start living your life. If you are over 70 and/or have a serious illness, then be safe and take precautions and when it is available, get vaccinated. Don’t let the overblown dangers of a flu drive your life to destruction.
