Francis Wesley 'Wes' Fuller

Francis Wesley “Wes” Fuller, passed away at age 86 on Dec. 2, 2020. Wes was born to Jack and Sarah (Walkup) Fuller on May 19, 1934. He grew up in St. Maries, Idaho, then moved to Coeur d’Alene and attended Coeur d’Alene High School, where he developed his love of sports and lettered in four sports, an honor only one other person had accomplished. Coeur d’Alene High School was also where he met his wife, Sally Stickney. They married on Sept. 5, 1953.

Out of high school, he started working with his father for the Milwaukee Railroad for over 40 years, retiring from St. Maries River Railroad. Wes enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face. He was not only a great sportsman, but also always a great sport, making lifelong friends with those on his team, those he competed against and those in the stands.

Wes was a left-handed first baseman and was inducted into the Inland Empire Softball Hall of Fame in 1989. He also loved to bowl, rolling a score of 299 that remained on the board for all to see. He loved following his favorite sports, including the Chicago Bears, the Seahawks and Gonzaga.

Wes touched so many lives and loved to give those he met nicknames.

Wesley is proceeded in death by his daughter, Kathleen and son, Jack; and great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn. He is survived by his wife, Sally Fuller; daughters, Jill Bruhn and BethAnn Fuller; grandchildren, Janet Bruhn, Donnie Bruhn, Sarah Fuller, Lucas Ward and Nicole Fuller; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

Wes was a hard-working, kind and happy man that will truly be missed. A memorial service in remembrance of Wes Fuller and his son, Jack, will be held at a later date. Arrangements provided by Yates Funeral Home. Online registry and condolences may be found at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
