COLUMN: Clues for cancel culture

| December 6, 2020 1:00 AM

Last Sunday’s “Opinion” page of The Press contained a letter ranting on Bob Shillingstad’s weekly column. It was a perfect example of today’s “Cancel Culture.”

Usually if something is hurting me, I just stop doing it. Years ago, I had a niece who started her own cancel culture; i.e. if you said something to her about minding her mother, she’d respond with “Don’t say that!”

Another analogy that brings a smile to my face was one of the Smothers Brothers’ routines. Whenever Tommy and Dick would get into a disagreement and Dick would lay out his argument, Tommy would just stare at him with that funny dumb look on this face and counter with “Oh yeah?”

On Thanksgiving Day, we were blessed with a wonderful gathering of family and friends. The half hour before carving the turkey was spent in a time of sharing and praise; precious. Please keep up the good work Bob, and God bless.
