St. Joe, Calder, Avery to experience a planned power outage

SPOKANE — About 750 Avista electric customers in St. Joe, Calder, and Avery will experience a planned power outage from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The planned power outage is necessary as Avista crews replace a power pole on St. Joe River Road, according to a press releaes.

No road closures are expected during this outage. Traffic control will be in place as lane restrictions may occur.

“It becomes necessary to replace power poles when they are damaged or reach a certain age,” said Chris Sands, manager of electric operations in St. Maries and the surrounding areas. “We understand how disruptive power outages can be and we’re focused on delivering the high level of reliability and safety our customers depend on."
