PHD: Record 333 new cases

The Panhandle Health District reported a single-day record of 333 new coronavirus cases on Friday.

PHD’s total cases are now 10,715, with 124 deaths, 113 of those people age 70 and over, and 7,430 closed cases.

Kootenai County had 272 new cases recorded on Friday, bringing its case count to 8,338, with 86 deaths attributed to the virus.

Bonner County has 1,139 cases, Shoshone is at 552, Boundary 394 and Benewah 291.

There are 108,366 coronavirus cases statewide, with 1,032 Idaho deaths attributed to the virus.

Kootenai Health had 63 COVID patients, with 15 in critical care, as it operates near capacity.

Health officials urge residents to adhere to the PHD mandate to wear a mask when unable to maintain social distancing.
