YOUTH: Tale of woe hollow

| August 28, 2020 1:00 AM

I’m sorry — it was hard to stop laughing after reading Shelly Blank’s opinion in the Aug. 21 Press. Oh my God! Someone hurt her poor baby’s feelings while he was working. I’ll bet she had to plug him right back on the teat and vow to get even with the mean man who had the gall to hurt her poor baby’s feelings. The poor boy is now crippled for life with hurt feelings syndrome (a severe malady common in mama’s boys). Her poor baby needs to fill in a hurt feeling complaint and give it to law enforcement. I’m sure they’ll hunt this meany down and wave their finger at him in admonishment.

Perhaps teaching your poor baby the old (and still as relevant today as when it was first penned) saying, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me,” will implant a little backbone in him. Please be sure to give him a big kiss and pat on the head when you tuck him in tonight.
