Notable calls for the day!

08-25-2020

Day Shift handled 92 calls between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Below are some of the notable calls: • NIVCTF Detectives located a wanted male in Post Falls and took him into custody on his warrants for Felony Eluding, PWI and Concealing of Evidence. 20-36211

• Deputies responded to Garwood Elementary for a report of drugs being located on the playground. It was believed to be a large bag of methamphetamine. It turned out to be a homemade "stress ball," a balloon filled with dry corn kernels and what appeared to be salt. Substance tested out abundance of caution, negative for controlled substance.

• Deputies arrested a male for his warrant at JDC.

• Deputies took a vehicle theft report. The R/P called to report he purchased a vehicle from a used car dealership in Post Falls. As he was driving it home, it broke down on 4th of July Pass. He called the dealership and they told him to leave it, with the keys in it and they would send a tow truck but it was gone when they arrived.

• Deputies assisted Detectives with a warrant arrest of a male while he was at the SO for interviews.

• Deputies handled a crash at Prairie Ave. and Hwy 95.

• Deputies handled a crash at Lancaster and Huetter. Blowing dust from field work caused several cars to slow because they could not see. Two cars collided. Dust continued to be an issue in the area and the Hwy District was contacted to possibly post signs.

• Deputies responded to assist ISP on several traffic stops on Hwy 95 and I-90.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies arrested a male at Habitat for Humanity on his warrant for resisting/obstructing and petit theft. 20-36286

• Deputies learned an inmate who was arrested the day before, concealed stolen property and a drug pipe by swallowing it. The inmate was taken to KH to get the items removed. I am sure there will be additional charges for concealing evidence once the items are recovered. 20-36257

• Deputies responded to Hayden Super 1 for a detained shoplifter.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Several 911 hang up calls but nothing else of note.

Have a great day!
