Lorman D. Boawn, 80
Lorman D. Boawn, 80, of Hayden, has gone to be with the Lord. He passed away from complications of COVID-19 on Aug. 21, 2020 at Kootenai Health.
Lorman was born in Wilbur, Wash., to Robert J. and Maida V. Boawn. He grew up in Post Falls and graduated from Post Falls High School. He then went to North Idaho College, where he received his mechanics certification. Lorman married Toni Yuill on Jan. 5, 1963, and resided in Post Falls, where they raised their two daughters: Carmen and Lisa.
He worked as an auto mechanic before taking a job with Kaiser Aluminum for the next 22 years as a millwright. Lorman enjoyed camping, riding ATVs, spending winters in Arizona, watching basketball and football and playing cards. He loved spending time with family and friends, supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sporting and school events.
Lorman is survived by his wife, Toni, of 57 years; his daughters and sons-in-law; Carmen and Joel Newby of Coeur d’Alene and Lisa and Kevin Harrison of Seattle; grandsons, Kyle Newby (wife, Leah and great-grandchildren, Bodie and Kylee); Connor Newby and Austin Harrison; and his sister, Linda Ivie (husband, Paul and daughter, Amber).
Lorman attended New Life Church.
A public viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today. Aug. 26, 2020, at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020.
