Fans encouraged to buy tickets early for area prep football games

| August 26, 2020 1:25 AM

Tickets sales will be limited, and preferably in advance, for a pair of season-opening high school football games — Lakeland at Lake City, and Post Falls at Sandpoint — scheduled for Friday.

Both games are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.

At Lake City, parents and family of Lake City football players can purchase tickets today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lake City High activities office (208-769-2979).

Lakeland parents and family, as well as all other fans, can buy tickets Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lake City activities office, or from 4 to 6 p.m. at the football gate.

On Friday, tickets will be available from 8 to 11 a.m. in the activities office.

Parents and fans of Lakeland are asked to exclusively use the visitors' gate enter and, if still available, to purchase tickets the night of the game.

Lake City is asking for all fans to wear masks and practice social distancing at the game, with families sitting together.

Every other row in the bleachers on both sides will be blocked off, cutting the capacity in the bleachers to half, or roughly 1,500. Fans may also bring lawn chairs and sit behind the end zones, on the track, or on the grassy hills on each side of the stadium.

At Sandpoint, the seating capacity at War Memorial Field on Friday will be limited to 450 people in the Barlow Stadium grandstands and 200 people in the visitors' bleachers, Lake Pend Oreille Superintendent Tom Albertson said.

Each Post Falls varsity football player will be allowed two tickets to the game, which can be picked up today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Post Falls High School.

Any remaining tickets can be picked up on Thursday at Post Falls High on first-come first-served basis from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a maximum of two tickets per person.

The game will also be televised on SWX.
