Police: People try to flood Portland police union building

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say people marched to the police union building in Portland, Oregon, Monday night and tried to break into the facility.

KOIN reports a running hose was placed in the window as an attempt to flood the building. The amount of damage resulting from the water is unknown.

The Portland Police Association building has been the target of multiple arson fires and substantial graffiti over the course of demonstrations.

No arrests were made and authorities say most of the crowd dispersed by early Tuesday morning.

Demonstrations that often turn violent have racked Oregon’s biggest city for more than two months following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
