HAYDEN — A vehicle struck a residence at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Government Way after a two-vehicle T-bone accident Saturday around 12:30 p.m.

As a result of the accident, one of the vehicles hit the residence on the southwest corner of the intersection, according to a press release from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

There was no one in the residence at the time of the crash.

Based on the investigation and witness statements a 1997 Ford van driven by Johnathan Lewis, 47, of Spokane was traveling westbound on Wyoming and failed to stop for the posted stop sign, the sheriff’s office said. As the van entered the intersection it struck a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup, being driven by Jeremy Ellis, 43, of Hayden.

Northern Lakes Fire and Rescue also responded to the accident.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries. Lewis was issued a citation for inattentive driving. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident, the KCSO said.
