Shooting was self-inflicted, accidental

COCOLALLA — A gunshot wound which injured a Cocolalla resident on Tuesday has been determined to be accidentally self-inflicted, according to Bonner County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim Hemphill.

Further information about the incident was not available on Wednesday.

Deputies and Bonner County EMS personnel were summoned to the 1900 block of Fish Creek Road at 7 p.m. after receiving gunshot wound report. The injured party was flown from the scene in a Life Flight Network helicopter for treatment.

The injured person apparently survived the wound. Bonner County Coroner Robert Beers said he had not been advised on Wednesday of a fatality resulting from the shooting.
