Free mask giveaway today at Cherry Hill Park

| August 13, 2020 10:27 AM

The City of Coeur d’Alene will host a free mask giveaway today from 3 to 6 p.m. at Cherry Hill Park on North 15th in Coeur d’Alene.

This will be the second giveaway for the “Stop the Spread, Wear a Mask Campaign,” an initiative lead by a growing list of regional health organizations, cities, schools and businesses to keep Kootenai County communities healthy and facilities open.

The masks were purchased by the Fire Department through the CARES Act, and approved by the State of Idaho specifically for public outreach programs, which do not deplete the supply of masks for first responders.

“I’m proud of our Firefighters and their efforts to protect our community. I’m looking forward to volunteering along side them on Thursday handing out free masks.” said council member Amy Evans.

Over 2,500 masks were given out at the last event. If demand remains high, future mask distributions may be added.
