COVID: Possible silver lining

| August 5, 2020 1:00 AM

The last time this nation came together was 9/11. And now, again, a horrible situation, COVID, has brought us together again. But this time the threat is throughout our nation and has given everyone a chance to be creative and help one another.

So how can I say COVID has a silver lining? Because in this presidential and congressional election year, we have been blessed with almost no political commercials. No one bashing their opponents. Nor do they say what they will try to accomplish and how it will be done.

I was brought up to believe, “If you can’t say something nice about someone, then don’t say anything at all!” Allow the American public to see the good you do and how you accomplish it. We do not need months and months of political bashing.

As we have been creative and helpful with COVID, let us do the same with political advertising and put a limit on the number of months we are subjected to this bad mouthing.
