SCHOOL: Option leads to success

| August 2, 2020 1:00 AM

I used to dread going to school every day.

I struggled with depression and anxiety, and on top of that I was bullied in my brick-and-mortar classroom. Each year, I thought it was going to get better, until freshman year when it escalated and I couldn’t take it anymore. I wanted to try a different option, something I found with online school.

With online school at Idaho Virtual Academy, I built a schedule that worked for me and allowed me to pursue my passion — kids! I could nanny part time throughout high school and with online school, I was able to start taking college classes and earning college credit earlier than I expected.

After I graduated from high school, I pursued a degree in child development from North Idaho College while working full time. With my degree and the money I earned from working, I opened my own in-home day care facility! This was a dream come true and something that wouldn’t have been possible without the head start I received from online school.

Education should open doors for students to pursue their dreams. Let’s make that possible by giving students school options. Online school is a solution that works.
