Access sites on the Clark Fork River and a nearby portion of Lake Pend Oreille are open for anglers and boaters.
The Johnsonn Creek access, about 3 miles south of Clark Fork, was temporarily closed last autumn. Since then banks were stabilized and the road, and access have been improved.
The Clark Fork River at Derr Island site received a new access road and gravel boat launch, and the channel was dredged to improve low water access.
A portion of the Clark Fork Driftyard Access Site, 3 ½ miles west of Clark Fork off of Highway 200, will remain open all year, including the boat launch, according to Idaho Fish and Game, which worked to improve the sites.
