IDAHO: We’re not NYC
The subject is the coronavirus and getting the city/country opened. The virus is here to stay, just as the flu is here.
We are being led by what is happening in New York and other large cities. Those cities should not open for months or years. They have no way to stay apart 6 feet, they live in high rise buildings and have to use an elevator used by everyone to get in or to leave. Their transportation is crowded buses, subways and trains. They will never be socially distant.
We live in a smaller town, the majority of us live in separate homes and our apartments are not high rise buildings. We travel in separate vehicles, not public transportation.
We have had many businesses open and have been going out in public and have had very few cases of the virus. When we reopen, we will continue to be respectful of others. Those who feel comfortable wearing masks and gloves should do so.
The virus will always be here just like the flu and we need to understand that no matter how long we are closed, it will not disappear.
Allow individuals to open if they choose, allow citizens to shop where they choose and stop being led by fear. Take care of yourselves and be respectful of others, it’s what we do here!
