HAYDEN — About 3,000 gallons of liquid fertilizer were spilled on U.S. 95 following a crash today.

The Idaho State Police report that the accident occurred about 11:20 a.m. three miles north of Hayden.

Michael Riebli, 63, of Bonners Ferry, was driving northbound in a semi pulling a trailer with tanks on the trailer, ISP said.

The semi was cut off by an older-model, two-tone, blue over white Dodge pickup truck, with a partial plate of K701, that was turning right onto U.S. 95, causing Riebli to veer off the road into a ditch to avoid crashing, ISP said.

The tank broke off of the trailer and spilled about 3,000 gallons of liquid fertilizer onto the road and ground. The lanes were blocked for a little more than two hours.

Riebli was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.

Authorities are seeking the driver of the pickup truck.

If anyone witnessed this crash, they are asked to contact Trooper Mohr at the Idaho State Police at (208) 209-8620.
