DELAVAN: Community comes first

| April 28, 2020 1:00 AM

Kootenai County voters will face an important decision on their mail-in May 19 primary election ballot with respect to the future of our county’s administration and direction. It is now more important than ever to let your voice be heard. You have an important choice to make in selecting our Kootenai County commissioner, District 2.

I ask that your choice be Greg Delavan, a fourth generation North Idahoan, a local business owner and a Kootenai County property owner. Delavan for many years through community involvement has worked to protect the interest of our county residents. He questions government regulations and those administering them.

Delavan would be a fresh change to our county government. Born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Delavan is keenly in touch with our county residents and shares a philosophy in less government and less bureaucracy.

The other incumbent choice for commissioner has roots from out of our area locating here from New York. Since November, Delavan’s opponent does not own real property in Kootenai County. How can he have the perspective of the county’s property owners? What does he know about private property rights? As a bureaucrat he seems to be more of the problem than one with solutions.

I urge you to vote for Greg Delavan county commissioner representing District 2. He will best serve the interests of its citizens.

JOHN MacPHEE
