VIRUS: Root of the problem

| April 26, 2020 1:00 AM

Every day we face risks. That’s why we buy life insurance, auto, home, medical and so forth. With insurance, we pay someone to assume the financial burden of risk.

There are many other risks in life not covered by insurance. How much risk are you willing to assume? How responsible are you? If you don’t want to get hit by a drunk driver, stay out of a car. If you don’t want to be hit by lightning, stay indoors during thunderstorms. If you really didn’t want to go to Minneapolis, why did you get on the train? If you didn’t want to have a broken leg, stay off the ski hill. I could go on and on.

We don’t see the government shutting down the highways because of a few drunk drivers. Or shutting down the ski hill because of a broken leg. The paternal socialist state has shut down our economy because of a potential threat of people getting sick. If you don’t want the virus, stay inside and don’t go outside nor let anyone inside your home! It’s not the risk that’s the problem, it’s government’s reaction to the risk that’s the problem!
