Gizmo-CDA provides fun projects for CASA kids
Gizmo-CDA is planning to deliver more than 100 kits to North Idaho CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) to keep kiddos entertained and educated without the need for internet access.
The kits include a variety of challenging yet fun activities for the kids to assemble themselves. Gizmo volunteers and workers have spent two weeks laser-cutting and preparing pieces for backgammon boards, robot dragons, rockets and other projects for CASA’s kids to enjoy. Gizmo co-founder Barb Mueller said the kits, which will only require tape, glue and household items to assemble, are an extension of Gizmo’s focus on project-based learning.
“We wanted to give the kids to do something with their hands,” she said. “This was an opportunity to get projects into the hands of kids and let them learn from that experience.”
