Notable calls of the day!

04-17-2020

• Deputies responded to the area of Meyer and Prairie for a reported Domestic Dispute between a male and female in a vehicle. The vehicle was finally located westboud I-90 at mm 4. After investigating, it was determined the two were in fact in an argument, however the female advised she was not pushed to the ground, rather she tripped on the curb during the course of the argument. 20-13840

• Deputies responded to N. Cliffhouse Rd. again for an issue with female where she had reportedly overdosed on medication. EMS transported her to KH. It was believed she took her medication for an issue with her swollen back and neck. 20-13867

• Deputies handled a call originally listed as a citizen assist reference child custody issues. During the investigation, he learned the father had a one year old son whom he was the primary caregiver for because the mother was a drug user and generally did not care for their son, however there was no custody paperwork in place. Today she and her sister showed up at the father’s home to spend time with the child, but took the child and fled back to Washington without the father’s consent. There was a similar case earlier this year where the mother kicked in a door at father’s home and took the child. Ultimately Deputies completed a complaint request against the mother for second degree kidnapping, burglary and battery (she shoved the father at one point) and a complaint request against the sister for second degree kidnapping and burglary. 20-13924

• Deputies from graveyard shift were searching for a suspicious pickup truck possibly related to a shots fired report in Hayden when a female called to report a white, lowered F150 she believed had followed her home from Super 1. Deputies responded and learned that she had no suspect information and the vehicle had left the area. The female R/P had a warrant out of Boise so she was arrested on the warrant. 20-13958

• Deputies responded to the area of E. Black Bear Rd. for a male subject reportedly trespassing on the neighbor’s property. On scene it was determined this is part of an on-going Civil Dispute between several parties in the area. 20-13973

• Deputies responded for a reported Suicide Threat in the area of N. Ramsgate Ln. in reference to a male texting his soon to be ex-wife that he was going to hurt himself. While responding to the call, Deputies were updated the male had left the residence in a black Dodge truck. Attempts via LL were unsuccessful. Deputies checked the area An ATL was requested but the male had not been located. 20-13998

• Several Deputies participated in an education effort at a number of recreational sites throughout the county. They were directed to contact subjects at the sites and educate them on the Governor’s Stay at Home order and the requirements of those coming from out of state. A number of people were contacted and overall most were understanding.

• A Deputy responded to a trespassing incident on Kilarney Lake Road where the R/P was complaining of subjects in a vehicle on his property. He claimed this to be an ongoing issue and originally chose to lock his gate to trap them in, but later was convinced to unlock the gate and avoid a confrontation. The Deputy learned on scene that this was actually a civil issue over and easement and at least for now the issue was resolved. 20-14014

• Deputies responded to a domestic dispute on 3rd Street in Athol for the second time in two weeks. A male and female had been in another argument about her going for walks around town, because he is worried she will bring Coronavirus into their home. This time the incident was not physical and she agreed to stay at her brother’s residence for the night. The male doesn’t want female back at the house until she gets tested for Coronavirus, so additional issues are likely. 20-14031

• A Deputy handled a report of an illegal burn in Athol reported by Timberlake Fire. A similar issue was handled by another Deputy last week and it was determined that based on the homeowners prior history with law enforcement and statements made last week about continuing to burn and provoking law enforcement to arrest him, in-person contact would not be made. Instead, the Deputy contacted the home owner by phone and he confirmed that he was burning on his property, confirmed that he had been notified of the current burn ban, and confirmed that he was going to continue ignoring it. He was charged via complaint request with another violation of the burn ban. 20-14030

• Deputies responded to a trespassing on Stinson Loop where a female knocked on a stranger’s door looking for a friend. She later returned and jumped his backyard fence, then pounded on the side of his house. She left before deputies arrived but the victim said he saw her vehicle at a residence on Sundler Road behind his residence. The female was located and cited for trespassing. It was also reported and discovered that the female and her vehicle was seen at businesses at night possibly looking to do some thefts. An FI was completed reference her activity in the area. 20-14026

• Deputies responded to a reported fight on Salmonberry Loop. Upon arrival, a female said that she came to this residence to confront a male. Through numerous interviews on scene, it was learned that there were couple of people involved and the argument was a result of several relationships that were going on. At one point in the confrontation, a male got in female’s face and chest bumped her back. This was confirmed through surveillance video at the residence. The male was cited for battery and the female was trespassed from the residence by the homeowner. 20-14038

• Deputies received a 911 hang up call from S. Robinson Creek Rd. Deputies were able to make contact with a male who advised his wife and daughter had an argument, however, the daughter had already left. Nothing physical happened. An FI was completed due to the history with the family. 20-14055

• Deputies responded to W. Brunner Rd. for a trespassing complaint. The reporting party called in and advised trespassers on ATV’s were on her property. Prior to our arrival, the RP’s husband confronted the riders and they left. Deputies were unable to locate them. 20-14062

• Deputies received information that another juvenile party was to occur on the state endowment land on Diagonal east of Sturgeon. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate any parties or fresh tracks. A couple other possible areas were checked and no one was located. 20-14066

• Deputies responded to E. Spyglass for a suspicious person. The reporting party called and advised a male came to his door looking for someone. The RP told the male to leave his property numerous times, but the suspect refused. The RP shot two rounds from a handgun into his yard as a warning and the suspect finally left. The male was located and identified and it was learned he was on felony probation. His story was that he was there to meet a female, who he claimed to be spiritually married to, but he did not know her last name. He was waiting for several hours and decided to go to the RP’s to see if she lived there. After speaking to the male’s PO, it appears he suffers from some mental health issues and is not taking his medications. An FI was completed. 20-14073

• A Deputy was patrolling along Cd’A Lake Driver when he came upon a crash site near Tony’s. It appeared a vehicle had left the roadway, crossed onto the bike path and knocking several posts into the lake. Additional car parts were found further east on Cd’A Lake Drive. Additionally, the crashed vehicle, a Saab SUV, was located abandoned on the bike path near the Bennett Bay Inn. The front bumper and several other parts that had been knocked off the car in the collision were in the back. It is unknown if this vehicle was related to the recent car rallies and races at Higgens Point, but evidence suggested that there was quite a bit of speed involved. The owners could not be located despite several efforts. A report was completed.

• At approximately 1430 hours, A Deputy came upon a large car rally at Higgens Point. She stopped a vehicle as it was diving west in a reckless/racing manner. That driver was issued a citation for reckless driving. He is an Airman at Fairchild AFB and was on leave to reduce the possibility of close contact at the base. He decided to then go hang out with 200-300 individuals at Higgens Point. A Patrol Sergeant responded to the parking area and tried to disperse the crowd. One individual stated they could be there because they were “social distancing.” However, they were not and were very crowded. Another individual (with Washington plates), stated they were conducting a protest against the Governor’s Order. He was informed he was in the wrong state and a Washington group should not be in Idaho protesting the Idaho Governor’s Order. Additionally, the group was informed they were in a State Park, not a public parking area and a permit was required for the group. They were encouraged to look at the signage citing the IDAPA rule and apply for a permit for future events. Approximately 200 vehicles ranging from a Chevy Malibu to an orange Lamborghini and everything in between left. Most were compliant but a few gave protest and were given informational flyers and offered an invitation to go to court. They declined and left.

• Deputies assisted medical with a possible overdose call on Village Dr. It was determined to be a medical issue and no crime.

• Deputies responded to the area of French Gulch Rd. near Holt Rd. for an abandoned vehicle. A male was located, pant less, in the car asleep. This male has been the subject of a few bulletins locally. He was lucid but did not have a place to stay. He is working with his brother, who lives nearby, to work on getting the car licensed so he can drive back to Spokane. He was warned and a message was left for his brother to come and pick him up as he was parked on private property.

• Recreation Deputies came in to assist with a detail in the morning but stayed busy into the afternoon with several calls in the back country. They included “Washington plated vehicles” seen in the area, to disabled vehicles to reports of unsafe shooting.

• Deputies responded to calls of unsafe shooting in the area of Stormking Dr. After extensive shooting, the source of the gunfire could not be located, only heard.

• Deputies responded to Corbin Park for a report of a rider-less kayak floating in the river. As multiple units were responding, another caller reported the kayaker had been pulled from the water and no other persons were in the river.

• An angler called into dispatch on Marine 16 Channel to ask for assistance in finding the Mica Bay Boat Launch. Due to the darkness and the launch not being lit he could not find it. A Patrol Sergeant was able to go to the launch, activate his overhead lights and guide them safely to the launch. Alcohol was not a factor. 20-1416

• A Deputy answered a noise complaint from the Rose Lake General Store. Caller said a long haul trucker with an Illinois license was parked in the parking lot and the refrigerator portion of the trailer was making too much noise. She said it was “peculiar” and wanted the truck moved. The Deputy was able to explain to her that trucker’s park there frequently and he was probably just needing to rest and it would be safest for anyone on the road to let him sleep so he could continue his route with his cargo. 20-14158

• As a Deputy was coming to briefing he noticed an adult male standing in the median of I-90 and Atlas St. He initiated contact and discovered the adult male was a missing person that coincidentally another Deputy was working on. The male was returned home and an FI was completed to document the incident. 20-14139

• Deputies responded to N. Sheep Springs road for a citizen dispute. One neighbor was upset because the other neighbors were riding their motorcycles along the county road and spooking their horses. The upset neighbor got in his vehicle and drove passed the residence twice and at some point waved a pistol so the motorcycle riders could see it. After a lengthy conversation the suspect was cited and released for exhibition or use of a deadly weapon. 20-14152

• A Deputy responded to KH ER for a battery report. Upon his arrival it was explained by a juvenile that he was involved in a snowball fight in the Hayden Creek area. At one point the juvenile said he threw a snowball at another person not involved in the fight and in retaliation the other male grabbed a fence post and hit the juvenile in the knee. The juvenile said there was an apology and they shook hands before they left. After he told the story to his mother the juvenile was taken to the ER for a medical assessment of his knee and to file a report. The Deputy completed a report and closed it CV. 20-14156

• Deputies responded to N. Fantasy Loop for a welfare check on a female. An anonymous caller said the female was somewhere in Rathdrum and posting on Facebook that she is “unable to leave” and was with a male named “Brian.” The caller also stated she believed the female is “being human trafficked.” Deputies were able to locate the female and talk to her. She explained she was stuck because her car broke down. She also explained that she and the male have reconciled and she does not need help. 20-14160

• Deputies responded to HWY 53 for a report of a 911 open line. 911 received a call but no one was contacted on the other end. The call taker could hear what was possibly a commotion. Deputies learned that the residence where this led to was not where either party lived. The phone returned to male and female. They were currently transients. Possible locations were checked without luck. FI completed.

• Deputies received a call of a possible overdue party that went up Hayden Creek. The wife of one of the males called and stated KCSO had to go get them if she was not heard from again in 3 hrs. Dispatch tried to advise the wife that we would need to speak with her and to wait in the local area. She was not located by telephone within moments of the initial call. With no idea where to look, back country was not called out. No other reports came in.

• A Deputy observed a suspicious male in the garbage cans at Habitat for Humanity. He is a known transient and officer safety issue. The male had not taken anything, nor was going through the donation area. The male believed he could salvage stuff from the garbage bins. He was advised to leave. FI completed.

• Deputies responded to E. Ohio Match Rd. for a report of several vehicles and outbuildings on fire. Upon arrival, several vehicles, sheds, and trees were on fire. Nothing suspicious, but it appeared that the owner had left a burn pile unattended.

• Deputies responded to Pineview St. in Rathdrum to assist with a suicidal 14 YO male after he posted about taking too many pills on Snapchat. Rathdrum completed the investigation.
