KASTNING: Wins daughter’s approval
It may seem like a daughter’s endorsement of her dad for public office would be a given, but I disagree. I think family relationships give insight into the full breadth of a person, especially that of a daughter and her father. Since I’ve seen him in about every situation possible, in peaks, valleys, joys, sorrows, good times and bad, I can honestly say I know Tim Kastning in the fullest sense. It took a while to narrow a description of him down to just a few words, but I believe these paint the clearest picture of my dad.
Selfless. He was always willing to trek across the country with me for travel softball, and he worked tirelessly to run his business in a successful, ethical way so he could provide for his family. My dad seeks to place others before himself. He is the embodiment of servant leadership, a quality unfortunately not found often enough in positions of public office. Tim would place the needs of his constituents first every time. Honest. With my dad, truthfulness is not optional. Being honest in all circumstances, even if it made you look bad, was one of the key values he instilled in us growing up. Taxpayers can rest assured that with Tim, they’ll get the full truth without exception.
Transparent. What you see is what you get. I truly don’t know of anyone else who is as genuine and authentic as my dad. Whether it was his time in the Air Force, teaching us the American ideals found in the Constitution, or his active involvement in the community, my dad has always been motivated to serve his country and his state. I think it’s important for voters to know that Christian and conservative values have always been my dad’s compass. With him there are no ulterior motives and there is nothing to hide.
My dad is so much more than these three words, but I think these are the most important for everyone to know. I am proud to be his daughter, and I am excited to see how he will help the state of Idaho. A vote for Tim Kastning is a vote for selflessness, honesty, and transparency.
