CHURCH: Honking good idea

| April 10, 2020 1:00 AM

To Pastor Remington and others around the area, there is an alternative to closed encounters of the spiritual kind. At the Baptist Church of Kellogg Pastor Mike Terry has set up a system of tapping into an FM radio frequency (92.7).

Pastor Mike dresses in warm clothing. He broadcasts from the front of the church as the congregation sits in their cars in the parking lot. It’s like being at a drive-in theater.

Pastor Mike is so innovative. He’s been a missionary to Africa. He has his own business so that he takes no salary. He’s voted one of the top high school volleyball officials in North Idaho every year.

I hope that other churches will look at this novel idea. This is in no way a sales pitch. Anyone that’s in a good Bible-based church and is happy there, great. We can all still congregate during these adverse conditions. As the pastor says, however, “bring your own coffee.”
