TOGETHER: Virus common enemy
I would like to thank George Miller for taking last Friday off and showing his softer side. It was a pleasure to read him not writing about communists at our door, lazy misguided socialists, evil Democrats and idiot liberals. I think it is one of the first letters of his that I actually read all the way through.
These are truly troubled times and both sides are being jacked up by people who do not have our best interest at heart. They are not motivated by love, truth or wisdom but just like to see the fur fly or worse. This is truly a time when we need to exercise our better angels and not demonize those who think, feel and believe differently than ourselves. We must learn to truly love our neighbors as ourselves.
If we are to get through this virus and other political viruses that are eating away at the fabric of our country, we must find what can unite us. We can’t give power to those who want to manipulate us against each other with their hate and greed. Let’s all stop the name calling and see each other as brothers and sisters to fight the virus and heal the divide.
