The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course is open for play
While some area courses have opted to shut down over the coronavirus pandemic, The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course is open for play.
The Resort Course opened Wednesday, head professional Andy Mackimmie said.
Outdoor activities, including golf, are compliant with the Idaho state government’s recent self-isolation order.
A few changes have been made at the course to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff, according to a news release.
“We are following the state-mandated golf course recommendations to prevent crowding and will regularly disinfect surfaces such as golf carts, flagsticks, restroom surfaces, doors, and other touch points,” the release said. “The Pro Shop and Floating Green Restaurant will be closed at least through April 15th, but on-course and takeout food and beverage services will remain open. Standard forecaddie services are also suspended through at least April 15th. Guests will handle their personal golf equipment and transportation to the course. Pre-round massages are suspended until further notice.”
Social distancing is easy to implement at The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course since the course already provides a private golfing experience, the release said. Groups rarely see other golfers from hole to hole or come within 10 feet.
“We have received many questions about how the ongoing pandemic has affected the golf course,” said Bob Nuttelman, President of The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course. “It’s going to be nice to get out of the house, breathe some fresh air, and enjoy a round of golf with amazing lake views.”
