DOUG O: He’s a giver

Every now and then, somebody runs for office and the only thing you can say is, “Now that makes sense.” Some people are takers, others are givers.

Doug Okuniewicz is a giver. He contributes to our community in a multitude of ways. Besides providing jobs for others, he is president of the Greene Idaho Foundation, which has donated more than $1 million to local charities in North Idaho including Children’s Village, senior centers, food banks, the North Idaho STEM Charter Academy, police and fire organizations, CASA, 4-H, Fernan STEM Academy, American Legion Post 143, Family Promise, Idaho Drug Free Youth, churches, TESH, KTEC, and others.

Now he wants to give even more. Doug O doesn’t need to do this, he doesn’t have any higher political aspirations, he doesn’t have any pet projects, he just feels it’s his duty. Doug will operate with integrity before, during and after the election. Isn’t that refreshing?

Quite simply, Doug O is one of the good guys. He has represented North Idaho admirably in the private sector, and he will do so in the Legislature.
