Only one hundred people were able to log into a virtual Kootenai County sheriff candidate forum Thursday night.

Hosted by Innovation Collective’s Coeur d’Alene Community Manager Kirstin Ahmer and 13 year old podcaster Luke Sharon, the event gave candidates Bob Norris, Richard Whitehead, John Grimm, Kim Edmondson, and Mike Bauer five minutes to introduce themselves and the opportunity to respond to follow-up questions.

Innovation Collective CEO Nick Smoot said the company limited the size of the event so that it could be interactive. In the future, Smoot hopes to open similar events to 10,000 viewers.

“Our events that we host around politics we always try to make about celebrating the individuals who are running for office,” Smoot said. “Luke was animated and did a great job. All of us should look to unlock that creative nature that he has. It was pretty neat to see.”
