CRISIS: Beware tribalism

I have been very impressed with the reaction of many Americans to the COVID-19 threat. There are some, however, who do not understand or refuse to accept the best practices advised pretty much unanimously, by experts. Too many are generalizing their conclusions from specific experiences they see.

I think another factor that influences them is the confusion created by the absence of dependable central authority and control. I’m guessing that the tribal mentality also influences people’s reactions. My hope is that people will take a deep breath, join together and achieve an all-American and timely outcome.
