Coeur Group rallies to help seniors

| April 3, 2020 1:00 AM

Starting March 16, Coeur Group members have served as grocery shoppers and errand runners for our community’s at-risk population.

The good deeds will go on.

The Coeur Group, a service organization comprised of local business professionals, organized and implemented a task force that provides errand-running services to community members who are self-quarantined.

Kootenai County residents who are staying home due to being immune-compromised, elderly, or have pre-existing conditions may request an errand be run on their behalf. They can request a trip to the grocery store for basic necessities, a bank run, a check of their P.O. Box, a non-narcotic trip to the pharmacy, or any other simple errand. The service is provided free of charge.

Community members can request the service by calling the Coeur Group Hotline at 208-352-3140. Alternatively, an online request form can be accessed at www.thecoeurgroup.com.

Since the service began on March 16, the task force has received dozens of requests, the majority of which have been for groceries and supplies. The Coeur Group has partnered with local organizations, including the Kroc Center, to provide financial assistance to purchase necessities when required.

Since 2004, The Coeur Group has worked to make an impact in the North Idaho community through a variety of special projects. Its more than 50 members collectively reported over one thousand hours of community service work in 2019 alone. Visit www.thecoeurgroup.com
