Digital forum will feature sheriff candidates
A bright, civic-minded teenager and Innovation Collective will co-host a digital Kootenai County sheriff candidate forum tonight at 6.
Luke Sharon, 13, pulled the event together and will co-host alongside Innovation Collective’s Coeur d’Alene Community Manager, Kirstin Ahmer.
Viewers can access the forum online: zoom.us/s/336537896
Each sheriff candidate has five minutes to share what they would do for the community if they were elected, Ahmer said.
No negative comments and no references to the other candidates are allowed.
After candidates Bob Norris, Richard Whitehead, John Grimm, Kim Edmondson and Mike Bauer introduce themselves, each candidate will be presented with three questions. One will focus on population growth in Kootenai County, another on the landscape of mental health care in the area, and lastly, each candidate’s life experiences that show their qualifications for the job outside of traditionally expected qualities.
Sharon has interviewed all of the candidates previously on his podcast, but he wanted to get the information out to people who may not be paying attention to the race.
“I figured that I could just put my own [forum], an unbiased, informative conversation that got all the candidates to share what their message is,” he said.
