Hearn resigns from Cd'A School Board

Long-time Coeur d’Alene School Board Trustee Tom Hearn announced his resignation from the school board Tuesday morning.

He will resign from his position effective Saturday.

“My wife and I are staying in the area but moving out of Zone 5 that I represent,” Hearn wrote in his resignation letter. “As you know, a Trustee by law must resign from the School Board if no longer living in the Zone that they represent.

“It has been a great honor to serve on the school board since 2013 and to be elected by the residents of Zone 5,” he continued. “I’ve tried to be a strong advocate for public education. While having a good idea of the problems the district is facing from having been on the ‘inside’ for six years, I also see the many good things happening in public education in Coeur d’Alene. I have a great deal of respect for the teachers, administrators and other staff in the school district as well as my fellow trustees. With the current school board and superintendent, I am comfortable leaving the board knowing its leadership is in good hands.”
