PRICE: Many reasons to support

Kudos to the Coeur d’Alene Press for your coverage of the City Council candidates coming up for election on Nov. 5. Along that line, I’m delighted to see Elaine Price has thrown her hat into the ring for Council Seat 1. Looks like we certainly have some qualified candidates from which to choose, but Elaine gets my vote because I have gotten to know her personally over the last 10 years as my metals broker. Rather than speak of her politics, I’d like to express to the community my opinion of her as a person.

She and her husband, Richard, are two of the most honest people I know. She’s a Christian-based, hardworking mom who raised her kids here in Coeur d’Alene. Elaine has an instinctive feel for people and is as even handed and fair as any of my acquaintances. I have every confidence in her business sense and feel that same logic would be applied to any city problems.

On the soft side of the issue, Elaine is an animal lover and fully supports the growth of our great local Humane Society. She has been a professional bookkeeper for many years and this can only add to her qualifications. It is my hope that if you are undecided on your vote, that you will look into Mrs. Prices’ sterling character and qualifications further. I think that if you meet her in person you’ll understand the warmth I allude. See you at the voting booth,
