3A, 4A boys, girls soccer
tourneys get underway
Seedings for this week’s 3A District 1-2 boys and girls high school soccer tournaments have been determined.
The tournaments, scheduled for The Fields at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls, begin today. Two boys and two girls teams will advance to state.
In boys action today, it’s No. 4 seed Coeur d’Alene Charter vs. No. 5 Grangeville at 11 a.m., No. 3 St. Maries vs. No. 6 Priest River at 1 p.m. and No. 2 Bonners Ferry vs. No. 7 Orofino at 3.
Winners advance to Friday’s semifinals, where No. 1 seed Timberlake plays the Coeur d’Alene Charter-Grangeville winner at 4 p.m., followed by the St. Maries-Priest River winner vs. the Bonners Ferry-Orofino winner at 6.
Both semifinal winners qualify for state, and advance to Saturday’s championship game at 4 p.m.
In girls action today, it’s No. 4 seed St. Maries vs. No. 5 Bonners Ferry at 11 a.m., No. 3 Grangeville vs. No. 6 Priest River at 1 p.m. and No. 2 Timberlake vs. No. 7 Kellogg at 3.
Winners move on to Friday’s semifinals, where No. 1 seed Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy faces the St. Maries-Bonners Ferry winner at 4 p.m., followed by the Grangeville-Priest River winner vs. the Timberlake-Kellogg winner at 6.
Both semifinal winners qualify for state, and will meet in Saturday’s championship game at 2 p.m.
- The 4A Region 1 girls soccer tourney begins today, with No. 3 seed Lakeland playing at No. 2 Moscow at 3:30. The winner travels to Sandpoint on Wednesday for the regional title game at 3:30 p.m., with that winner earning the region’s lone berth to state.
- The 4A Region 1 boys soccer tourney begins Tuesday, with No. 3 seed Lakeland visiting No. 2 Sandpoint at 3:30 p.m. That winner travels to Moscow on Thursday for the regional title game at 3:30 p.m., with that winner capturing the region’s lone berth to state.
