SPOKANE VALLEY — Jaya Miller had 22 digs and Lake City rallied from two sets down to beat the University Titans 13-25, 18-25, 27-25, 25-16, 16-14 in nonleague volleyball Friday night at U-Hi.

Brenna Hawkins had 11 kills and two blocks for Lake City (17-10). Nellie Reese had 28 assists and two aces, Ella Hosfeld 14 assists and four aces, Hanah Stoddard eight kills and two aces, Alissa Stennett two aces, and Tanai Jenkins and Kate DuCoeur two blocks each.

“The girls came together after the second set and were determined to battle back and fight for every point together as a family,” Lake City coach Mike Summers said. “Our blocking picked up in the third through fifth sets and our serve started to put them out of system. With a couple injuries we had some players step up tonight and fight. It was a great way to end a long week of volleyball especially after losing a five-set heartbreaker to Mead on Thursday night.”

Lake City travels to Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday in 5A Inland Empire League play to wrap up the regular season.

POST FALLS — Megan Moore recorded a hat trick in the first half, Isabella Lucky had two goals and two assists for the Panthers in an Intermountain League win over the Badgers at The Fields at Real Life Ministries.

“It was senior night and last game of our regular season,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. “We moved the ball well in the first half and had some great looks. This game allowed for us to play with our formation a little, and I was pleased with how the girls adjusted on the fly. We had a few players who haven’t had a great deal of minutes for one reason or another, like Megan Moore, step up and play their roles really well.”

Coeur d’Alene Charter (13-1, 12-0 IML) competes in the 3A District 1-2 tournament next week at The Fields at Real Life Ministries.
